Emma’s Birthday Party

Two Saturdays ago, Kaitlyn was invited to her classmate Emma’s birthday party at the Build-A-Bear Workshop on 5th Avenue. Here are some photos taken on that day. Enjoy! Continue reading ‘Emma’s Birthday Party’

The Last Few Months: Melanie

As for Mel, she’s still working at the same school that Kaitlyn goes to and is always exhausted. Besides all the drama that goes on there to give her a headache and make her life stressful, she loves the children that she works with and might be moving up to the next class with them. We’ll have to see what happens. Continue reading ‘The Last Few Months: Melanie’

The Last Few Months: Kaitlyn

So what have we been up to for the last 6 months?

Well Kaitlyn has been in school (daycare) and has learned a great deal. From saying to mommy “Can you stop?”, “I don’t like that!”, and “No!” to learning to sit on the potty (although nothing ever comes out) to pretend play, Kaitlyn is becoming a big girl. It’s getting really scary. Continue reading ‘The Last Few Months: Kaitlyn’

Hello, world—again.

We’re back.

No, we didn’t abandon technology & move into a cave, nor have we decided to let Facebook replace our family blog, at least not completely. Continue reading ‘Hello, world—again.’

Halloween Pix

This past Halloween was Kaitlyn’s 2nd Halloween. Last year, she was a hot dog & she hated the outfit. Not because it’s a hot dog, but because it has no pant legs. Yes, she was only 9 months old but she was already standing up & starting to walk.

This year, she’s a cat. Although this one has legs, she didn’t really like wearing it either, but for the most part she was OK with it. It might be because she got to wear it once at a church Halloween party, a few days before Halloween. This year, we took her to Queens to her grandparents’ house & trick-o’-treated there.

Here are some pix from the party & Halloween night: Continue reading ‘Halloween Pix’

Happy Surprise

If you haven’t heard, Melanie threw me a surprise party for my big 30th birthday a few weeks ago. She really surprised me this time, since she doesn’t really do things like that. But, thanks hun, it was fun!

So this is what happened. Continue reading ‘Happy Surprise’

Again: We’re still alive!

From looking at our last post, we realized that we haven’t updated this thing for almost 2 months now! Our daily readership has probably gone all the way down from the 40s to 2 a day by now; one loyal “reader” being my parents’ computer, since its web browser’s home page is set to our blog, and the other would be my sister.

Since school started 2 months ago, Kaitlyn has had the cold 3 times, Mel got sick once for a week or so, and I got sick once for a day (weird). So, that’s why we have been kind of unavailable to put up new posts.

But today, since I’m home again with Kaitlyn because she has a cold, I decided to finally write something during her afternoon nap. As a bonus, here’s a video of her during her first couple of weeks at school. Enjoy! Continue reading ‘Again: We’re still alive!’

Summer Trip ‘08: Trip to the Zoo

Which one is your favorite?

Summer Trip ‘08: Before & After

These are the “before & after” of Kaitlyn getting spoiled by her grandparents & aunts.
Can you see the difference? ;-)

Summer Trip ‘08: My Favorites

Well. Let us begin the recap of our summer trip with a few of my favorite shots of Kaitlyn from the trip.

Many of the photos from this trip were taken with the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 lens that I just got. If you have a DSLR, like taking portraits or close-ups but on a budget, I would highly recommend you getting one (or the Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D lens if you have a Nikon DSLRs). They are cheap ($80 to $120) plastic lenses but take photos that rival their f/1.4 siblings that cost three to four times more!

Kaitlyn will be 18 months old tomorrow. How time flies! She’ll soon be in school, learning how to swim, taking the SAT, going out with boys…but of course, she’ll need to be potty-trained before all that can happen.

Anyway, here’s a picture taken just 6 months ago today, when we threw her a wonderful birthday party.

First Blood: Part 2

Kaitlyn had her blood drawn on Monday. Although I wasn’t there, from looking at these photos, I think she had a blast. ;-p
