This past Halloween was Kaitlyn’s 2nd Halloween. Last year, she was a hot dog & she hated the outfit. Not because it’s a hot dog, but because it has no pant legs. Yes, she was only 9 months old but she was already standing up & starting to walk.

This year, she’s a cat. Although this one has legs, she didn’t really like wearing it either, but for the most part she was OK with it. It might be because she got to wear it once at a church Halloween party, a few days before Halloween. This year, we took her to Queens to her grandparents’ house & trick-o’-treated there. Our old pal Patrick was also there with us.

We attended Anita & Kyan’s wedding ceremony & banquet on 10/6. The ceremony was short & beautiful. The banquet was fun & the food was good. And yes, we are just posting up the pix now. =P

  She comes like every week. Kaitlyn loves her. But for some reason, we only have this 1 picture of her from of all those visits. Sorry!

• #2 Fan: “Mrs. Anonymous”
  Unfortunately, we don’t know the name of our 2nd most active member. She’s a Mandarin-speaking caretaker for an 87-year-old lady from church. She’s not a Christian herself, but she’s happy to come every Sunday just to see Kaitlyn. Although she always forgets how old Kaitlyn is or that Mel doesn’t understand Mandarin, she’s still very obsessed with our baby.
  (One reason is because her only-child (a 30-plus-year-old woman), who has been married for 5 years, doesn’t want to have children.)
  Sadly for her, she won’t be “attending” our “club meetings” anymore because she has been re-assigned to take care of a different patient/client.

On Tuesday night, we were at church for dumpling night. Kaitlyn’s future boyfriend, Darion, was there and also her new little friend, Keona, who is 2 weeks older than Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn was really tired (and she seems to be starting to recognize me) as Nancy Pau-Pau was holding her. The following video is of Kaitlyn crying (she was a mess – her boogers were starting to drip down her nose) and Darion being her copycat. The video after that is pretty much the same, except with Keona as the crybaby. Funny stuff…

Since my sister & dad already posted most of the pix from our trip to Utah on their own sites, I’m only going to put a few of my favorites since some of you have already seen them (plus now they’re getting old).

The Brooklyn NY Stake has finally decided to release me from my calling as Stake Young Women’s Counselor after 5 1/2 years. No more Youth Conferences, Stake Auxiliary Trainings, Super Saturdays, or monthly meetings. I hate to admit that I’m breathing a sigh of relief. I’ve worked with 3 different presidencies and everyone was released but me. I wondered what it was that I was doing that God wanted me to stay. I don’t think I did that great of a job. I hardly ever visited the wards I was in charge of. But that was because I knew that they were doing a spectacular job (and I was TOO lazy to travel there). Well I think it’s time for a break. I’ve got a newborn baby that I’m still getting used to and I think I may be needed elsewhere. Who knows what God has in store for me.

Anyway, Kaitlyn has been sleeping wonderfully the last few nights, although she kept us up until 1 AM. She hasn’t been sleeping too well during the day, like she’d wake up after about 15-30 minutes after we put her down. But yesterday, she had tons of visitors and she pretty much slept the whole time they were here. Ether kept trying to wake her up but she wouldn’t budge. It was like she was under a spell. She finally decided to wake up and drive us nuts when they all left. =/

Around 11 PM last night, Ether put her in her crib to go to sleep but she was so fussy. It sounded like fake crying & we knew that she just wanted to be held cuz she already ate and was changed. He stayed next to her and talked to her, but didn’t pick her up. She kept crying and he would put the paci in her mouth but she would spit it out and cry louder. After this struggle for about 30 minutes, she finally gave up and fell asleep with the paci in her mouth. She didn’t wake up until like 1 and after that feeding, she didn’t wake up for another 3 hours. So we got some sleep last night! We didn’t even have to put on the white noise. She was relatively easy to take care of last night. We hope that she will continue to do this every night. (wishful thinking)

My church friends threw me a baby shower on Saturday. It wasn’t exactly a surprise. I had little hints here and there. It was nice though. My grandma came so both my aunts could come too. My mom ordered food and we had a good time. The baby got lots of good gifts. Mostly clothes and diapers. =D (Thanks everyone!)
