Dutch Wonderland

After hearing about a kiddie theme park in Pennsylvania from a friend, last weekend, we decided to go check it out.

We left the house at around 8:30 in the morning. By about 10:30, we arrived at our first stop in Philadelphia: Pat’s King of Steaks (the “birthplace” of Philly cheesesteak) & Geno’s Steaks.

Then we got back on the road & headed for Dutch Wonderland in Lancaster, PA. Because of some bike tour/race, we hit traffic just a few miles away from the park, on a single lane, country road for a good half an hour. We didn’t get there until 1 PM.

It was humid & hot that day—95˚F by 9:30 AM. Fortunately, the place has the greatest water park for little kids, so we got to cool off right away. Most lines were short & we had a great time there together. Hopefully we’ll get to go again, may be with some family or friends next time!

Time For A Bath

It’s all the mundane things that give meanings to life, and giving K a bath is one of those seemingly mundane things.

By the end of a day when you’re all exhausted and still have to wrestle with an energy-infused toddler, to me, that’s a challenge. But ask me in just a few short years, and I’ll tell you that this is exactly the kind of daily struggles that I miss the most.

So even though sometimes I sigh forcefully & drag my feet to the bathroom when it’s my turn to give her a bath, deep down inside I’m grateful for the chance & the unique moment I have with her.

Father’s Day Song

Kaitlyn learned & sang a song for Father’s Day at church last month, and we asked her to sing it again when we got home.
I thought she did a pretty good job. It’s tougher to do it without music or other kids singing with her.
