It doesn’t matter how hungry Kaitlyn is, as soon as she thinks you’re preparing food for her or even sees you holding her bottle, she gets so anxious that she would start acting like a starving puppy — huffing, puffing, whining & sometimes even crying.
And once she starts crying, you’re WAY too slow.
Even if you stick the bottle into her mouth, she would still keep crying, as if you have just ruined her future.
So as soon as we realize that it’s time for her to eat, we try to prepare everything quickly (milk, bib, high-chair, etc.), so that we can surprise her by shoving the bottle into her mouth before she can utter a sound.
Two weeks ago, however, Melanie was just a little too smooth, a little too quick, as she gave Kaitlyn the bottle, milk got squirted all over Kaitlyn’s face instead of her mouth.

As you can tell from the picture, it got Kaitlyn totally off guard. She was so “speechless” that I was able to run over for the camera & back, and she was still in that state of shock, even though Melanie & I were laughing our heads off!

Kaitlyn didn’t mind the gap between the pillow & the mattress. When she wants to stay asleep, she’ll stay asleep.

…”hahahaha”!
It was about 10:15 pm. We were all in the living room. Kaitlyn was on the “bouncy” smiling & bouncing, when all of a sudden she sneezed. She turned & looked up at me, so I laughed and then imitated her sneeze. She must have found it funny & just laughed/giggled OUT LOUD! I “sneezed” again & she laughed again! I tried one more time & she laughed again! So I got up & came back with the camera, & this is what I caught on video:
But then, right after I stopped recording, she stopped her giggling, as if she knew!

A tag or a strap.

They both keep her occupied & quiet.

At least not last Saturday.
Since Mel had to work, I took Kaitlyn to see Dr. Chou last Saturday morning. She was due for 2 more shots. She was so happy to see Dr. Chou that she kept on smiling & laughing (without sound, of course). Because of that, we couldn’t get her to lie down, so Dr. Chou just gave her the shots with her sitting up.

With both shots, immediately after she was poked, she looked at Dr. Chou for a moment, then turned to me & started frowning. I was expecting her to start crying, or at least after the second shot. But to my surprise, she didn’t!
The funny thing was what made her “cry” at the office wasn’t the shots, but it was Dr. Chou’s daughter. Dr. Chou’s wife & daughter came by the room to see her while I was on my way out with her in my arm. As soon as his daughter smiled at & touched Kaitlyn’s hand, she turned & cried for like 5 seconds.
She fell asleep in less than a minute after we got into the car. And she stayed asleep for almost 3 hours that afternoon.

The first time we tried to teach Kaitlyn how to hold her own bottle was when she was only 5 weeks old. I know, it was a ridiculous idea. I mean, come on, the bottle weighs more than half of her!

Now a 7-month-old baby, with bigger rolls on her thighs, Kaitlyn is now able to hold the bottle steady for the most part. Since she has that natural tight grip, we just need to help her 2-3 times during the feeding & that’s it.

She is still far from being a bottle master (like her cousin Talon) though. When she’s too excited & too hungry, she still gets confused as to which side the milk comes out from.

Kaitlyn now says “mama” to tell us that she’s getting tired, cranky, hungry, bored, or about to cry.
She kind of started saying “mama” a few weeks ago. But now she can say it clearer than ever before.

Unfortunately, Kaitlyn didn’t have the card, so she’s stuck in her crib. And when mommy found her, she had a stinky poopy diaper!

FYI, when these photos were taken, she wasn’t able to pull herself up, nor could she sit upright without help. So don’t worry, she was, and still is, safe with that crib.

Are y’all shocked that we haven’t updated in over a week?
Well, because there are like 30 of you who look at this everyday, and only a handful of you ever leave comments! :-p

Just kidding! — sort of…
What happened was, the computer was running out of hard drive space (again), so I got a 1 TB (that’s “terabytes”; or roughly 1000 GB) external drive. In the process of moving some files to the new hard drive, I accidentally “erased” everything on the computer!
Fortunately, I found a really good recovery program that let me recover the files. Unfortunately, I also had to pay a good sum of money for it.

Anyway, after days of re-installing programs & stuff, the computer is about 80% back to how it was.
So, stay tuned, more updates will be coming!
p.s. If all of your digital photos are on your computer hard drive & no place else, BACK THEM UP before the hard drive fails on you! Copy them to blank DVDs or whatever! It usually doesn’t take more than 3 to 5 years before hard drives start to act up or even fail. When it does, you’ll run the risk (high risk) of losing all those precious memories that you never bother printing out.
